Few artists last longer than a couple of years, but you’re different: you’re talented, hard working and want to reach and maintain success. You love creating, performing and connecting with the crowd and can’t imagine doing anything else. Working in an office 9 to 5? No, thanks.

Navigating the highs and lows of an artistic path ain’t easy though.

Right now you’re feeling the pressure of a demanding and unstable career, and struggle with regular anxiety, insecurity and mood swings. Trying to make it in a hyper-competitive, precarious and unpredictable environment is TOUGH. You're constantly exposed to criticism and rejection, and feel there's no respite from being expected to deliver and perform to high standards. Social media pressure is real: you’re either comparing yourself to other artists who seem to be doing well, or obsess over the negative comments.

It’s hard to keep up with intensive touring:

There’s sleep deprivation, constant travelling, isolation and an excess of drinking, drug-taking or partying. The excitement of shows and the loneliness that follows, meanwhile, leaves you feeling worn out and miserable. Adjusting to regular, mundane life after touring is equally hard, as is maintaining healthy relationships with people back home.

You feel you have to choose between your career and personal life, and have to sacrifice one or the other.

You may suffer in silence, because you feel you can’t tell anyone about how you feel (except Twitter maybe). You don’t want to appear weak and you feel you don’t have the right to complain - this is the dream career you’ve always wanted, right?


I totally get how challenging an artist’s lifestyle can be, and I understand how you feel, having worked in this industry for 15 years. I have seen many artists struggle or burn out completely.

* What qualifies you to do this?

I trained with the Coaches Training Institute - a leader in its field, accredited by the International Coach Federation. Personal development has been my passion for the last 12 years, and I always include tried & tested tools and techniques in my sessions from fields such as NLP, positive psychology and spirituality. I personally used all of these while working in the music industry, and I can speak from first-hand experience.

* I’m worried about my reputation or appearing weak

Getting coached is cool AF - creative types, CEOs, celebrities, and entrepreneurs do it, not because they need it, but because they want to reach their potential. This is a safe, judgement-free space in which your privacy and confidentiality will be respected at all times. I don’t disclose who I work with or the content of the sessions to anyone. What happens in coaching, stays in coaching.

* I already have a manager, why would I need a coach?

A manager is in charge of the business aspect of your career, while I help you with the personal aspect. I don’t have any agenda outside of helping you feel and perform better. I’ll give you the keys to make you better equipped to handle challenges and pressure, as well as helping you feel more creative, resilient, productive and confident.

* I’ve already tried things like therapy or CBT in the past, why should I try this?

Unlike therapy, we won’t delve into your past and talk about your childhood for hours. Coaching doesn’t treat mental illnesses and doesn’t focus on the problem; rather, it focuses on the solution and empowers you to reconnect to your own answers and resources. It’s not only about having insights, but about being uber-practical too. You’ll be taking ACTION to get to where you want to be and see real progress - because nothing will change without action.

* Isn’t working with a coach for people who can’t manage on their own, and just for when life’s a real mess?

Quite the opposite - there’s a good reason successful people have coaches. Getting support means you’re serious about achieving your dreams and reaching your potential. You’re ready to solve the problem rather than resorting to self-medication or waiting for a breakdown to hit. You’ll benefit from a partner to guide, support and empower you, so you can get better results, faster

* I’m very depressed, addicted to drugs or alcohol, or am struggling with serious trauma

As a life coach I’m not qualified to deal with these things, but I can work alongside a therapist specialised in these issues. Please refer to a specialist and take care of yourself.
